Vietnamese Bhagavad Gita

Some Vietnamese hairdressers in Dallas, Texas, bought Srila Prabhupada’s books from me, so I took a Vietnamese “Bhagavad Gita As It Is” to present to them from Sri Sri Radha-Kalachandji Dhama’s bookroom.

The Vietnamese Gita was in my bookbag for a long time. One day I was working at the Cowboy Stadium. My supervisor said, “Mishra, there is a truck full of sound equipment coming. Help get it uploaded.”

Eventually the truck came, and we used a forklift to get everything off the back. The truck driver happened to be from Vietnam.

I asked the driver, “Would you like to read a book about karma, time, nature, the soul, and the controller?”

The driver, Trahn, responded that he would be very interested in the book. Although usually I don’t go outside during work, this was an opportunity. So I went up from the field level to the first floor and out the door. After getting the Vietnamese Bhagavad Gita out of my car, I went back in through security and down on the lift.

Trahn had patiently waited for me. After looking at the Gita, he went into the cab of his truck and brought out a donation to pay for the book. I gave him a mantra card, and we recited the Hare Krishna maha-mantra together. He drove out of the stadium with Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad Gita As It Is riding in the passenger seat.

Yours,
Mishra Bhagavan Dasa
