The Crash that wasn’t an Accident

University of California

While distributing books at University of California Riverside at a book table, I witnessed a male student who was riding a bike crash into a female student right in front of me. It wasn't serious. She was able to walk away.

As the student with the bike was getting his bike together to continue on, I said, "It's not an accident that you crashed into her in front of me. Had that not happened, you would have just zipped by without even noticing these nice books I'm showing to the students."

I showed him the Bhagavad Gita.

He liked it and said, "I'm a strong believer in karma and destiny, so I think you're right that this wasn't an accident."

He then gave a nice donation and received his Bhagavad Gita, but not by accident. Krsna has His mystical way of getting His message out.

An hour later a Muslim graduate student from Iran said that he been doing yoga for years and had heard of the Bhagavad Gita and always wanted to read it. Krsna arranged for him to also get the message.

Then, with my last BG on the table, a professor from Turkey (also a Muslim) saw my display of karma and yoga and came over to hear what I had to say. It turns out that he also had an interest in yoga, so when I showed him the pictures in the Gita, he was impressed and asked to give a donation for it.

Just before he left, he bent over and said softly, "It's nice to see that you are out here and not those pesky Christians."

I said, "Yes, students tell me that all the time."
