Srila Prabhupada ki Jay! by Madhu Mangal dasa

Srila Prabhupada and his book

KWIKY  BOOK-DISTRIBUTION NECTAR by Madhumangala Dasa

"What do you do?"

"I am a fireman."

"Have you ever put out the blazing forest fire of material existence?"

"No."

"Take this."

He took it. Now one fireman will be eternally blessed by the mercy of Srila Prabhupada!

I introduced myself to a young man. He told me that he was a recovering drug addict. He began to leave.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"I am going to look for some drugs."

I told him to re-think and showed him Srila Prabhupada's books.

"Take one of these. By reading these books you'll stay high forever."

He took one. Little did he know, his material existence is about come to an end by the mercy of Guru and Krsna. Srila Prabhupada, ki jay!

As I entered a supermarket, a boy rushed toward me. In his hands he had a bunch of flowers and a small decorative candle.

"Hey, where are you off to in such a hurry?"

"It's my girlfriend's birthday."

"Here take this book, this is the greatest gift that your girlfriend will
ever own."

He smiled and looked at Srila Prabhupada's books.

"Why sure, let me take one!"

The greatest gift is Srila Prabhupada's mercy and the blessings of Sri Sri Nitia Mayapur Candra.

THE INTERSECTION OF MERCY

I heard someone shouting. It sounded like an argument. At an intersection I saw that an argument was in progress between the driver of a car at the traffic lights, and a young man and lady who were standing on the aisle in the middle of the road. It appeared that the driver had accidently almost run them over. At  one stage of the argument, the driver got angry, got out of the car, and almost hit them. He got back into his car and drove off in a mood of passion. I walked up the young man, his face red and his body shaking with the aftershock of the argument.

I said to him, " My dear friend, do not get upset; it's not worth the time and effort, besides, it'll just  spoil your day, it's just a material thing and temporary." I put my hands on his shoulders and looked straight in his eyes. "Now take a deep breath slowly in, and breath out very slowly." He took a deep breath in, and closing his eyes, breathed slowly out. "There you go," I said (by this time a smile began to form on his face, which a moment or two was flushed red with rage). "Now repeat after me, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare," by this time he had an enormous smile on his face.  "This chanting of the Hare Krishna maha mantra is so powerful, that it can rid us of all our anxiety's and  bring us peace of mind."I gave him a big hug and introduced myself to him and showed him Srila Prabhupada's books.

I asked him were he was from. He told me that they were travelers and were from Pietermaritzburg and had just recently returned  from London and were visiting Cape Town. I said that was great, as I had just the book for them and handed him an Easy Journey to Other Planets. I told them that the book had a passport in it, travel documents, visa, tourist guide, travellers checks, In fact it had everything they needed to go to the most exotic destination of a life time, and believe me when they get there, they are going to be so impressed with the place, and that's to the spiritual world, were there is no birth, death, old age and disease. Believe me I told, they are never going to want to come back to this miserable material world, but will stay there eternally!  The young man took Srila Prabhupada book and handed me some money and asked his lady friend to give me some more. I handed him an invitation flyer to our weekly programs and thanked him for taking Srila Prabhupada's book from. He said goodbye with a look of great contentment on his face, as though the whole world were lifted off his
shoulders.

All glories to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, he was on his way back home, back to Godhead!

Yours in the service of Lord Sri Krsna and His devotees,

Hare Krsna.
