Mystical Krsna again comes through

We heard that 10,000 people were expected to attend a Navratri festival this evening, so I went with two new devotees to distribute at the Sakti Mandir. It was a super late-night festival. I wanted to distribute at least one Bhagavatam set to mark my Gurudev’s (Devamrta Swami) appearance day, the following day.

So I made a deal with the sankirtan team: one set of Bhagavatams or 2 a.m., whichever comes first.

So at 2 a.m., with no set distributed, painfully we started packing the books to leave. And, sure enough, Krishna sends a pious lady to our book table. She asks me, “What’s the difference between the Gita and Bhagavatam?”

I was like: “Oh, since you asked, let me explain to you really fast.”

I gave her the basic explanation how Gita was spoken by Krishna and Bhagavatham was spoken by devotees about Krishna, and how Pariksit had only seven days to live. etc. She liked my explanation, and with tears in her eyes, she goes, “How to carry all these books?“

I was like: “That’s very simple. Tell me where you have parked, and I can put the case in your car for you. 🙂

Your servant,
Shastra-krit Dasa
