Small Story

Our Humble Obeisances Jaya Srila Prabhupada One new mata in our congregation happened to tell something from her past. 12 years ago, when she was 14, she was basically against everything, especially against christianity and church. She used to wear this kind of ghost like white makeup on her face, with some bloodmarks coming from her mouth…hair was colored to neon-blue. Once on her town one christian frankly said to her "Girl, you are on your way to hell!" "Well…thanks…" It was the same day(or nearby),...

Bhakta Souza & Bhaktine Karoline

Dear Devotees Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. In 2006 I was distributing books in Cal State Long Beach University and I met this lady named Karoline (from Germany) she got the Gita from me. in 2007 I was distributing books in the same university and I meet her boy friend Souza (from brazil). He also got books from me (Gita, SSR). They are the most amazing couple I have ever met. They read the books and they regularly come to the temple from Long Beach where they live. They are very fired up in their Krsna...

Guard your health and distribute more books

In western Australia we had been running low on books, so I went around to all the storage sheds and lockers around the temple and rounded up all the books and did an inventory to see how many books we had so that we'd know when to make a book order. I found lots of old Srimad Bhagavatams and Krishna books, so I have been going out with them. It's ecstatic. When Srila Prabhupada was on the planet, devotees used to distribute the Srimad Bhagavatams as they came out. Never has ISKCON made so many devotees and been as successful as when...

Comment from Dave to Kripamoya’s article

Dave January 23, 2008 For years I worked as a full time regular pioneer for the Jehovahs Witnesses (house to house ministry) one of the best and most successful groups in this type of preaching. One thing I note in ISKCON is the big pat on the back we give ourselves on book distribution (the book scores tell us so); however we are poor on follow up; this is the biggest failing. This is partly down to the fact that most books are distributed on the street with little regard for follow up, not even a leaflet carefully placed in the book with an...

Early Days on Sankirtan

When I first tried to sell straight books I was horrible at it. I did not know what to say and I did not even believe the sound of my own words! I was a new devotee. I was only trying because I had some push from the temple authorities. I certainly liked Bhagavad-Gita but I could not preach. After so many bad days I finally cracked and just sat down on a seat in the airport and cried my eyes out. There was a service man near by and he stopped and said, "What's the matter, Mam, can I help?" I mumbled to him that I was supposed to...
