The face reader got it right

Once I was distributing in a train at the Secunderabad Railway Station, and I met a face reader (an astrologer who just by seeing the face or a photograph of a person tells about the person). I showed him a Telugu Bhagavad-gita, and he saw Srila Prabhupada's photograph on the back cover. He said, “This person is very intelligent.” I confirmed it and said, “If you read his book, you will also become very intelligent.” So he took that Bhagavad Gita. The most intelligent Srila Prabhupada, ki jai! Your Servant,...

What a coincidence!

On a Monday afternoon, in the recent mid-year marathon, Bal Gopal, my husband, and I were trying a little book distribution along the busy Lambton quay in Wellington. Nobody was showing much interest at all. We were on our way home from serving Krsna Food and had to stop at the bank to deposit the takings from that day. Inside the bank, I held up the Science of Self Realisation, showing it to Bal Gopal, and recited the Panca Tattva mantra, pleading aloud: “Please, Gauranga, let us meet one sincere person who will be interested in buying...

Many of you devotees receiving these stories were previously full-time book distributors, but now do other services. Please don't forget and...

The lady ordering it got some of our books and some she had two of, so she wanted to exchange the extras for different titles. I responded, saying she can come to our temple for the book exchange, and I'll send her a Gita. Then we went traveling, on a Janmastami maraton, during which I was meditating upon leaving a nice impression on people who do not take the books. One day a young lady passed by. She was in a rush but happy to see me. I offered her a book,...

One who knows

We were going to Kumbha Mela on rikshas and trying to reach ISKCON's tents. Our riksha driver thought that many of the tents were the ISKCON tents, so he was driving us all around. It was already after midnight but we could not find the ISKCON tents. Since we were tired and sleepy, we stopped by some tent in which the people there allowed us to stay overnight. The party was about to begin. A few hours later, I was awakened by a strange smell. These people didn't follow the principles. They were smoking some intoxicant. Although...
