Why so expensive? Oh! OK, I surrender

It was a hot, quiet evening outside Patel Brothers in Atlanta. We were sitting there praying for some mercy. Out of nowhere a really pious lady approaches our book table with her family.

She points to Srimad Bhagavatam (First Canto) and the Krishna book and asks me, “How much?”

I said, “For the Krishna book you can give a donation, but the Bhagavatam is $200.”

She was surprised and asked, “Why does it cost so much?”

I told her, “Because it’s an eighteen-volume set.”

She insisted that she just wanted the one book that’s on display. I explained to her that the Bhagavatam is nondifferent from Krishna, so I cannot break the Bhagavatam set. And, I said, whoever keeps a full set of Bhagavatam in the home even the demigods worship that home.

She goes, “OK, I surrender. Put all the books in my car.”
