Vaisnava Kids Performing Sankirtana

On Saturday the 4th of December we arrived at the Santa Monica Promenade and set up a book table. The four prabhus went in different directions to distribute books. Gaura Nitai age 12 enthusiastically distributed books to passerbys. One lady in a wheelchair approached the book table. Her right arm was paralyzed, in her left hand she had a lighted cigarette. She picked up the "Higher Taste." I tried to flip the pages for her so she could be able to see the pictures. I explained that this is a vegetarian cookbook, half recepies and half philosophy. By now the smoke was making my eyes watering. I explained that smoking is bad for health. She said that she know that, and had started to smoke after she got run over by a car. She paused and then said: "I am wondering if I should live or die." I told her that she has to live. I asked her if she would read the first part of the "Higher Taste." She said, "Yes!" I told her that if she need to talk to someone, she can call the telephone number on the back of the book and that devotees would be having a book table again next Saturday. Gaura Nitai and I distributed 16 books that after noon.
The next day, Sunday, we went to Venice beach. The two brothers accompanied us, Krishna Shakti age 8 and Syama age 6. As we set up the book table, the three boys began stopping everyone and anyone trying to distribute books. They were enthusiastically running around and offering "Higher Taste" for a one dollar donation. That day we distributed 41 books, mainly Higher Taste. It was an incredible scene, while other kids were chewing candies and similar stuff, the devotee kids were performing sankirtana yajna delivering conditioned souls from this hell of material existence.
