THE MIRACLE OF SRILA PRABHUPADA’S BOOKS

One year ago, a young girl named Kavita Kukde met me. She looked troubled, lost, and full of doubts about life, and even about the existence of God. As we spoke, I felt inspired to give her a copy of Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad Gita, told her how powerful this book is, and encouraged her to read it with faith. That was all. I never expected to see her again.

But on 6 March 2025, after one whole year, we met again. And when I saw her, I could hardly believe my eyes. She was not the same girl I had met before. Her face glowed with peace, her eyes shone with devotion, and she now wore a kanthi mala around her neck—a sign of her surrender to Krishna.

She excitedly shared how reading the Bhagavad Gita had changed her life. She didn’t just read it—she lived it. She got connected with ISKCON Ravet (near Pune city in Maharashtra, India), started chanting 16 rounds, and fully embraced Krishna consciousness.

But the miracles didn’t stop there. Inspired by her, her brother, Manoj Kukde, also started wearing a kanthi mala, chanting 16 rounds, reading Bhagavad Gita, and  following a devotional life.

Soon their transformation touched their whole family. For the past six months, their household has been cooking without onion and garlic, offering bhoga to the Lord before eating, and following Krishna’s teachings with faith and joy. Now Kavita is trying to bring her parents closer to ISKCON, too. And all of this happened in just one year!

As she spoke, tears filled her eyes, and she kept thanking me again and again. She said, “You gave me the Bhagavad Gita that day, explained its importance, and encouraged me to read it. That one moment changed my life forever.”

But the most touching thing she said was:

“We used to worship Radha-Krishna before, but it is in ISKCON that I truly learned how to love Them.”

These words went deep into my heart. It was a moment of realization, not my doing at all. This was Srila Prabhupada’s mercy. It was Srila Prabhupada himself who preached to her through his books. The Bhagavad Gita led her step by step to Krishna, without anyone personally guiding her.

After she left, I sat and thought about everything. I have seen many people’s lives transformed by the Bhagavad Gita, but usually, there is always a devotee helping them along the way. But in Kavita’s case, it was different. Srila Prabhupada’s book alone was enough to bring her from confusion to Krishna’s shelter.

I still remember how she was when I first met her—full of pain, doubts, and sadness. And today, she stands as living proof of Krishna’s mercy. This is the power of Srila Prabhupada’s books. He is still preaching, still changing lives, still bringing people to Krishna!

I do not take any credit for this. I have only tried to share what I have learned from my Srila Prabhupada. As we always say, Srila Prabhupada is still with us, through his books, guiding souls back to Krishna.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
All glories to Guru and Gauranga!
All glories to transcendental book distribution!

May Krishna always bless us so we can continue serving in this way and witness more souls being saved by Srila Prabhupada’s divine mercy.
