Smiling Grandmother

I usually approach younger people, but suddenly I saw an old lady coming by in a wheelchair. I approached her.

She stopped, and we had an interesting conversation. She is 92, and since her thirtieth birthday she has been a vegetarian. She knows and respects the Bhagavad Gita.

The next day she was scheduled to go to the hospital, so with a bright smile she said, "Yes, I'll buy the Gita from you, so I can read it in the hospital."

We took a photo together.

A month later I met her again at the same spot. I showed her our photo, asked her how was her healing, and whether she read the Gita.

"Not yet complete," she answered.

This means she actually is reading it. The people buying our books do read them, no doubt! Even though the body may appear old, the soul is still attracted to Srila Prabhupada's books, which are nondifferent from Lord Krishna!

Your servant,
Advaita Gaurahari Dasa
