Sankirtan story from Singapore
Dear Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances.all glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I always felt on book distribution that Krishna and Srila Prabhupada always make the arrangements for the books to go out. Last week while I was on sankirtan,it was really a tough day and nobody was taking the books. I perserved and kept going, meditating that today is a day of purification and the more people say "No" it is an opportunity to purify my anarthas and develop qualities conducive for spiritual life.
As I knocked on one door,a Chinese man opened ,and I was already imagining him saying "No" and waving me away. But he looked at it, called his wife and told her to take the book and read it. His wife looked thru the book and said she could not understand it. By Krishna's arrangement, he started to encourage her to read the book saying how nice the book is etc. I could not believe my ears! Finally she just closed the book and returned it to me saying that she has got no time to read it. Just then her daughter who must be about 7 years old, intervened and said "You have time to watch TV but you have no time to read the book!" She spoke in a manner as if she was scolding her mother. The mother surrendered and took the book, The Science of Self Realization.
Amazing incidents like this on sankirtan encourages me to go on doing my little bit for Srila Prabhupada despite the austerity. I pray to all the Vaishnavas to give me your mercy so that I can go on Srila Prabhupada's book distribution mission.
