Needs Intrests and Concerns
Sydney, Central station, Australia. Things are really warming up here in preparation for this years Srila Prabhupada marathon.
With great determination I asked a smart looking man whom was about to cross the road. "Mate are you a doctor or a businessman?"
He proudly said "I'm a businessman."
"Great, let me show you one too!" I said, and I noticed there was a lady that stopped with him.
He asked, "What's it about?
I told him, "This book (Bhagavat Gita) is about how to do good business. How to be successful but not at the expense of others. Asking about the lady with him I asked, 'Is she your wife or your secretary?'
"My secretary." said the businessman and they laughed.
"Oh great! if you don't live together than she must take one too." I said as I handed her a big Krsna book and continued with my attempt at a relevant explanation of Srila Prabhupadas books. "You see. When your doing business with others you can rip them off once and make a few bucks but loose them as a client, or, your can do you business in a way that is in harmony with their needs and keep them as clients. Therefore making more in the long run"
"How much are these books!" he asked excitedly.
"We just ask a donation for the printing. Most give $20 but if you're rich you can give $100."….. He laughed and gave me a $50 bill. I concluded with: "These books teach us how to attain the greatest success in life but not at the expense of others therefore everyone becomes satisfied in life. Thank you very much for your kind donation"
Krsna is in the heart. He is buddhir bhuddhirmatam, intelligence. And He is always ready to reciprocate with the sankirtan devotees.
Its nice when we can relate the books to the peoples needs, interests and concerns.
