Margin of a Devotee
This incident took place in Datta Mandir Sanpada on the occasion of Datta Jayanti. We were distributing books at the exit gate of the temple, many people passingby but very few having look on it inspite interested . we were putting all possible efforts so that as maximum as possible, people can get this knowledge. Then one lady approached the stall. she was interested only in Bhagavat Gita (already she had decided in her mind) so she gave cash & took Gita. She was about to leave but I request her to please take this Krishna book as well.
But she told I don’t want, this book is enough for me, will see later. I said madam this is biography of Krishna & Krishna says in GITA “Janmakarma cha me divyam…….” Those who know the birth & activity of krishna they don’t need to come again to this miserable world & exactly this (Janma &Karma of krishna) is given in this book. After this conversion her look become more little curios to know about it. But she was not agreeing easily.
So she said what you are getting by selling these books, how much margin you are getting. I told her I get nothing materially but definitely I am gaining infinite gain spiritually and that is joy of giving Krishna to others. I told her Krishna said “he likes those who preach his message to others & I want to be one of the loved one of Krishna. That’s it” andeven you can also experience this joy once you read this book & understandhis message. We are here today because we are benefited by this knowledge & now it’s our responsibility to give this knowledge to others for their benefit” . I told “we are doing many thing in this world for benefit /profit but try at least one thing to do for your Joy because profit /money can’t buy Joy ‐ its nature of our soul. Now it’s up to you whether to buy or not but still I am strongly recommending this book for you. Hare Krishna. She smiled & asked how much. I said – only Rs.140/‐ madam. She paid & went happily. Overall my experience was very nice. Whenever I went, I enjoyed bookdistribution. It is exciting to meet different kinds of people. Actually I am very shy but book distribution makes me lose my shyness. There is one announcement I make over the mike system on the book stall for which I am laughing at myself many times. There was a dominos pizza shop beside our book stall in Mansarovar. so all people would gather there for Pizza. I boldly but with smile announced “ Sharir ko jaise anna ki jarurat hoti hai vaise atma ko knowledge kijarurat hoti hai. Toh aaiye aur pizza ke sath bhagavat gita bhi leke jaiye” 10 By hearing this one man from pizza shop came and told me that yesterday I already Bought Gita. Thank you.
