Krishna Reconnected me with “My Faith”

Krishna Reconnected me with "My Faith"

Last night, at a university in Toronto, I set up a table outside our event room, and displayed some books and beads on a nice table cloth.

A girl stopped to see this as soon as she arrived at the event. I welcomed her, and we did her registration.

I asked, “How did you find us?”

She got a card from someone. And a girl in Kensington Market gave her the Bhagavad-gita two years ago.

I asked, “Oh, did the girl look like she was from India?”

She said no, the girl was white.

Then I asked, “Was it me?”

She said, “I don't  know. But my name is Faith, and she told me the Sanskrit word for my name.”

I said, “Shraddha. I remember you.”

We smiled in recollection.

I asked, “I put an invitation card in your Bhagavad-gita and told you it could be a bookmark?”

“Yes.”

I am confident that if I always put Bhakti Lounge invitation cards in people's books, then even if they don't open them for years, they can still find us.

My Faith came back and met me.

We spoke over dinner and really connected. She told me many stories about traveling alone to more than twenty countries last year. I asked her what she was looking for, and she said, “I don't know, but lately Hare Krishna has been coming up everywhere for me.”

PS from Vijaya das:  This is something that we should all learn from, when we distribute books we should put an invitation card in the book, it's also good to show the card to them and invite them to the temple, the personal touch. If you don't have an ivitation card then one can be made. This may be the thing that brings a person to associate with Krsna and His devotees.
