Oops, sorry!
I had just parked my sankirtan vehicle when a young man opened the passenger door of the car and started talking to me. I looked at him a little surprised. He was shocked. He had gotten into the wrong car! His wife was sitting in the car next to mine, and it looked just like my car. He apologized and explained why he had made the mistake. I showed him the Bhagavad-gita, and he happily gave a donation. There are so many ways that Lord Caitanya arranges for people to get the mercy. Your servant, Vijaya Dasa...

A few times a week, I take a long japa walk or japa hike. I put four or five books in my backpack and I chant, and I pray that I will be an instrument in Sri Sri Radha-Golokananda’s beautiful plan of bringing suffering souls closer to Their lotus feet. Generally, I tend to be shy, but since Covid 19, I feel a sense of urgency, and people are amazingly more receptive. So I just sit on a bench or a rock, chanting, and people show up, and I just talk a bit . . . appreciate something about them and make friends. Today, two ladies showed up,...

I was setting up my table at Pacific Beach, two blocks from the San Diego temple (how convenient!), when a man came by and asked, “Do you have the fifty-dollar stack of books? “Yes, I do.” I started piling the books up. “Okay. I thought, “Now he’s stretching the game.” Well, he returned an hour later, and he was ready to take the stack....

March 6th, around noon — a beautiful sun mercifully threw its warm rays on us. Sweat melodious harinama enchanted the hearts of people in the downtown. I was distributing books, prasada, and invitations. About thirty meters from the harinama, I saw a middle-aged woman attentively listening and watching the harinam. With a smile I approached her and offered her kind words and prasada. “No thank you. I don’t need anything,” she said. “It’s a gift for you,” I replied. “Really, it’s a gift for...

I displayed a full Bhagavatam set next to my book table, and I was praying to the Bhagavatam to send someone who will take the set home. Sure enough, this American (photo attached), Bhakta Andrew, wearing a Hare Krishna hoody, walked out of the store, went straight to the set, and asked how much I wanted for it. He has read a few small books by Srila Prabhupada and some books by Radhanath Swami. Now he wants to start reading the Bhagavatam. The exchange was so amazing for both of us that we both had tears in our eyes as we parted. Shastra...
