North Carolina State University: Book Distribution at Yogafest
Last Friday, our traveling sankirtan party visited North Carolina State University, in Raleigh, and the devotees felt very well received. In the beginning of the day, I met a person who told me that the next day there would be an event called Yogafest at a conference center on campus I looked up the event online and called the organizer. I told him that I am a Vedic monk who travel all over the United States distributing the original yoga texts like Bhagavad Gita, Puranas and Upanisads. He had heard of Bhagavad Gita and was interested in our...

I want to share with you a recent occurrence that reinforced my faith in Srila Prabhupada's promise, "If they read one page, one word, then their lives will become perfect." During the fall, one rainy morning I find myself distributing books in Kansas City at the corner of Troost and 63rd, perhaps a mile from the temple. This part of town is a little shaky, to put it lightly. There are chicken bones strewn everywhere, and creepy looking hobos constantly give me bad looks. The manager of this particular gas station has a real antagonism towards me...

There's a man called Peter, who often drives the bus to and from Mt. Victoria. This is the bus on which I get to and from where I live. Most of the time, Peter is in a bad mood. He gets angry with other drivers on the road and angry with passengers who take too long to find their snapper card. One day I was at the bus stop with Gokula-lila, about to travel to the city. Peter was driving the bus. He was in an unusually good mood. "Are you Hare Krishna girls?" he asked. We said yes, and he said he could tell by the way we were...

Hare Krsna, As you all know, I never write stories of distributing as I never have much of stories but wanted to share this with all of you. Last Wednesday, my only friend in this course of Employment Law asked me what I post everyday at facbook group for the Book Club? I was quiet surprised how she knew about it, later realized that my post would be shown in everyones news feed that "Anjan posted something in the group" since the setting for the group was open to public. I started explaining a bit and she got really...
