“HARE KRISHNA”

Taipei lane

You know, i'm not a mystical type of person and i'm definately not in touch with Supersoul. I just fumble my way through my sankirtan days praying that Krsna sends someone over to take a book from me, because i'm too lazy to go out of my way to go to them.

So i can't really explain why yesterday i was impelled to begin walking an extra 50 meters down a small untidy Taipei lane to reach a small untidy Taipei shop, that didn't look so special, and didn't warrant so much extra effort since there were plenty of other less energy-consuming options available to me at the time.

And when i arrived at the entrance of that shop and looked inside to see a lady preparing trays of meaty looking things, that didn't look at all appetising, i must admit that i began to wonder why?

But these negative thoughts began to dissipate after i had approached that lady and explained what i was doing, for she very quickly agreed to give a donation and take a book.

What's more, everything began to fall into place when she noticed Krishna on the cover of that book and immediately became very enthusiastic in chanting His Name, while showing me that she had recevied a callender from the Taichung (central Taiwan) devotees.

The cherry on the cake was when she called to her husband, a burly, working man, who barreled down the stairs and began to cry out the Holy Names of the Lord with heartfelt emotion; "HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE RAMA KRISHNA RAMA HARE"

Why i chose to go to that store, i do not know? But i do know that Krishna dosn't miss an opportunity to give one who has even a small taste for the Holy Names a chance to remember Him.
