Enthusiasm

Bhagavad Gita

On our last day of travels, we were in Hastings. Knowing that I do like sankirtan, the mind was feeling particularly unenthusiastic that there was 5 1/2 hours to go, it was raining, there was no van with us that day to go hide and warm up in. I thought about my usual doubts in asking Krishna for help, but also that this was a really good time to try it out. I sincerely wanted to distribute books, make the most of the opportunity of being on travels and knew it was in me somewhere, so I begged "Krishna, please give me some enthusiasm." Arriving at my spot, I was replying to a text message, when I noticed from the corner of my eye, an Indian man walk by who was looking my way.

I sensed that he was going to approach me for a book. I was about to say something when suddenly from the other direction, I heard a voice, "I've got money!" I looked up to a young boy standing there. Caught off guard I said "for what?", he said "spiritual books", I asked "have you met one of us before?", he replied "I met you the other day in Napier, remember, I had no money, but now I do". I felt bad that I didn't remember, but pretended I did. He then pulled $20 from his wallet for Bhagavad Gita. Instantly, enthusiasm levels went up. The next person I stopped was from Melbourne, he gave $40 for Bhagavad Gita, he didn't want more books but said "if this book touches my heart I'll somehow find more", so I encouraged him to take Your Ever Well Wisher also.
