England Preaching

Dear Prabhu's,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Recently while in England I heard about some dynamic preaching activities. The sankirtan devotees go to a remote town around London, distribute books for one week and give out invitations to a program at the end of the week. The program is called "Meet the Monks". At every program there are twenty to thirty people attending. Krpa Maya das, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada is the inspiration behind these transcendental meetings. For those of you who don't know him, he's a very warm devotee with a great sense of humor and has lead some of the best kirtans I've ever heard, he's also a very good preacher. He's the MC (master of ceremonies) so he introduces the monks (Bramacari book distributors) and has them explain how they took up the life of a monk. At the end of the program the devotees get the names and e-mails of the guest and regularly send a newsletter to them along with more books and prasad.
On the day of the program there is a big Hari Nama that ends at the rented place where they have the program. During one of these Hari Nama's there was a karmi eating a hamburger at a McDonald's, when he saw the hari Nama he was just getting ready to bite into the burger, but upon seeing the kirtan he became stunned. He sat there with his mouth open, shocked. Curious, he stood up and followed the devotees to the program, heard the lecture, took prasad, and vowed from that night on he would never eat meat again. Some time later he told the devotees that for the past fifteen years he had had stomach problems, but from the time he became vegetarian his stomach problems had stopped.
