Distribution in Scotland

My dad was telling me that he was a bit tired after a hard day at work and was not feeling up for going on books tonight. (For context, my dad has being doing sankirtana for over 25 years and is 63 now.) At the last minute, before getting his bus home, he changed his mind and jumped on a bus to another village. He went out for his usual hour and half and distributed five big books and fifteen small books. Just imagine if he had been out for longer.

So this shows the mercy of the Lord toward sankirtana devotees. Just for that little bit of extra effort, digging that little bit deeper, Lord Caitanya rewards us with the strength to continue. I know, through my current situation, that many devotees have such busy lifestyles and can't get out for full days, but that doesn't mean that books can't go out.

The other story, in relation to that last point, is that today my wife, Priya, distributed two maha-big books at work. So, yeah, it takes a lot of guts to ask, but with the right presentation and a little bit fearlessness, again books went out. Krishna's mercy and the determination of devotees — what a combination!

In case anyone asks what I have been doing: Over the last few days I also sold a few books to my work colleagues with quite some nice exchanges. I realized the power of presentation. If you say things the right way, you can really reach people.

Your Servant,
Janardana Dasa
