Devotees don’t do wonders, but wonders happen around them
Hare Krsna,
Recently, we had a day full of wonders. It was cloudy, but by Lord Krishna's grace the rain stopped. Taking it as the Lord's will, we packed books and made a move to distribute books. We planned to go to a marketplace.
But we were just a few steps away from the temple when it started raining again, getting heavy within a few seconds. What to do now?
We were already out, and for Srila Prabhupada's sake we did not want to go back now. Praying deeply to Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krishna in our hearts, we stopped at a place where three apartments complexes stood side by side. We stopped in front of the middle one.
In Nellore it is not easy to enter any apartment building, because a watchman will be there to ask a lot of things about each visitor and about the person one intends to visit.
This time we were in a situation where we didn't know anybody, because Krishna showed us the way to this apartment.
As we entered the parking lot, our eyes scanned the board displaying the flat owners' names. Before the watchman could ask us anything, we broke out, "We want to meet Nalini Mataji." (We chose this name from the board.)
The watchman dialed her number and then called us to talk to her. We greeted her with "Hare Krishna," and surprisingly she also greeted us the same way. She let us up, and as we reached her house we saw that she is one of the guests who comes to the temple every Sunday.
We talked to both her and her husband. She said that they were for a long time desiring to invite us for kirtana in their house. So we did some sankirtana in their house and talked to them, and they decided to get the Srimad Bhagavatam set.
After inviting them to the temple we left. To our surprise the sky was clear and full of stars. After this mystical incident our enthusiasm knew no bounds.
We started for the marketplace and entered a new shop. We did a fifteen-minute kirtana there, and the owner wanted to buy and distribute 185 books — another wonder for which we were unprepared. By then, only a half hour was left, but we met more people, and sixty more books were distributed. We felt that Srila Prabhupada was doing miracles every moment. Krishna was guiding our way to fortunate jivas. That day no one rejected us. It was as if everybody was waiting for Srila Prabhupada's books. The very same day, just after we left for book distribution, two Bhagavatam sets were sold in the temple within fifteen minutes. Your servant, Priyanka and party
