Hare Krishna Restaurant

Dear Prabhu,

PAMHO AGTSP

Hare Krsna

Here are some stories from Devakinandana Prabhu.

Ys, Purusa-sukta das

Dear devotees. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I havent' written in about two years, because of lot's of travelling skp and not good access to internet, but now will regularly contribute. I am currently distributing in Perth, the capital of Western Australia. It has to be one of the most favorable places in the world for spreading Krishna consciousness. The Hare Krishna restaurant here feeds 2 or 3 hundred people everyday. It was voted by the backpackers as the best restaurant in Perth for young people and travellers. Also recently we've been given permission to participate in a Christmas parade with hundreds of thousands of people. We've recently built the Yatra's first Ratha Yatra cart and will make the parade Ratha Yatra.

I was distributing in the Central Business District. I approached one man from England. He said that just that morning before he woke he dreamed that he was back in England and that a Hare Krishna Restaurant had just opened next to his parents house and that he was going to eat there. He took our meeting as a sign and he gave me five dollars for a Krishna consciousness the topmost yoga system.

I was distributing on the shopping street. I approached one young business man. IT turns out he was from America. Santa Monica. He took interest in the book immediately. I showed him the other books I had. When he saw the higher taste his eyes lit up and he asked how much. I told him most give a few dollars and he gave me five. He then told me that he is a vegan and that his naturopath told him that if he wants good health that he should get a Hare Krishna cookbook. He said that he had been looking for one but couldn't find one. He said that just before he met me he was going to go to a few more bookstores to look for a Hare Krishna cookbook. Krishna saves the day again! Then we started talking about L.A. and I asked him since he lived near Venice beach if he'd ever seen the Ratha Yatra Chariot festival. He said ,"Yeah when I was a kid we used to see those huge chariots and what were those things they brought out of the limousines?" I told him it was Lord Jagganath the lord of the universe. This guy had already had darshan with the Lord. How auspicious. It just so happened that I was wearing my Tshirt from This years L.A. Ratha Yatra so I showed it to him. He was very impressed and since he was into computers I gave him the flyer with the website info and invited him to the temple. He said that he eats at the restaurant regularly, so I gave him my email and told him to keep in touch. Nectar.

Next I was distributing in a suburb. It was going really well, but after lunch I was feeling a little sluggish, so I prayed to Krishna to help me. Just then I approached a big scary looking business man. THey generally don't stop, but he did and looked at my book. The science of self realization. With a cool head I told him what it was about and that I'm a monk asking for donations for the book, world peace and our temple. He said,"so you would like a donation for the Hare Krishna Movement?" I said yes. He reached into his wallet pulled out some money, placed it in my hand said have a nice day and started walking off. I looked down and saw two fifty dollar notes. He winked at me and dissappeared around the corner. Sankirtana Yajna Ki jai.

That's all the stories for this time, but before I go I would just like to give a message to the Grhashtas out there. I'm a grhashta and I support my wife and I on book distribution. I make more money than most people who work jobs doing book distribution. Rather than sell stickers and work with Karmi's, if you get fried with the material world mundane money making schemes try Sankirtana. I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed. Srila Prabhupada also guarantees it. Thanks for listening and until next time, Alway's remember Krishna and Never forget him. YOur servant, Devaki Nandana Dasa
