Brighupati Prabhu ki jaya!

Mount Wilson of San Gabriel Mountains

Dear Prabhus,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

The book distributors at LA Temple get one day a week off; Tuesday. Last week, on this day, Brighupati Prabhu took a couple of them for a drive into the nearby San Gabriel Mountains for a picnic and a japa walk. It only takes half an hour to drive from Watseka Avenue, past Downtown, and out into the mountains: it takes over an hour to simply get out of town in London…

They drove up Mount Wilson, the highest point around, and stopped for a view. Inland over the mountain range it was nice, but over LA it was smoggy. Not brown smog, but white, which is better I suppose. Maybe.

In the layby there, another car pulled up and Brighupati Prabhu mentioned, "Hey, they look like Bengalis. I think there's some books in my car," and sprang off to go distribute a book at 6500ft above sea level, possibly the highest book distributed! You just can't keep a seasoned sankirtan devotee down!

Your Servant,

Vraja Kumara das
