It is very nice

Amogha: Srila Prabhupada? When people in the street hear Krsna's name, the chanting, or they get some literature, does that mean they will not take birth as an animal? Prabhupada: No. They'll get birth in a good family. Sucinam sahmatam gehe. If they simply appreciate "It is very nice," then in the next life, human life is guaranteed. In a very nice family. Simply if he appreciates, "Yes, it is very nice" that's all. Then he'll get another chance. Amogha: Many people think the pictures are very nice....

Prabhupada’s Miracle

Prabhupada’s Miracle

Devotee: They are attracted by wonderful things such as Sai Baba. He is doing so many wonderful things. People… Prabhupada: That is, means rascal. He does not see Karma's wonderful. If you want to see wonderful things, why don't you see the more wonderful things? But they are foolish; they are captivated with small wonderful things. That means less intelligent….. Whatever you need, Karma will supply, if you actually remain dependent on Karma. There are so many literatures of different groups, but who is selling so much?...

A letter from Czech Republic, dhoti sankirtan

Thank you for writing. One time Indranuja Prabhu and I went out to a big event in the park in Denton. He thought it was a good idea to wear dhotis but the result was that after driving there for an hour we were kicked out immediatly. That is the only trouble I can think of. In the 70's we wore western clothes because people would be so freaked at the sight of vaisnava dress that you could not go into any conversation with them. The devotees with their tilak and all would sometimes tell people they were from Mars to break the ice. Since...

A Letter from Czech Republic

Yes. Devotional dress reminds everyone subconsciously of Vaikuntha. And it embodies an important characteristic of the vaisanava: dignity. When one reflects on Srila Prabupada and the impression he made in person, and always throughout his life, one is struck by his dignified countenance. Of course, Srila Prabhupad looked dignified even in a close-up of his radiant face, without seeing his dress. But the visage of a devotee in nicely pleated dhoti, with neat tilak absolutely conveys dignity, gravity and sobriety. And of course, Prabhupada...

A Couple of Stories by bhakta John

Hare Krishna, While reading H.G. Tulasi dd's stories, I remembered a few of my own decided to write them. Once ,this Azerbaijan devotee, Garuda Vahana Das and I were at University of Utah, where practically everyone is fixed up in Mormonism, and we approached a student reading outside on a bench. Garuda: (Russian accent) Excuse me, I have book for you, about Yoga, you know meditation. Student: That sounds great, but I think I'm okay. (Garuda always wears common cloth, and I always go in dhoti, so at this time the kid starts seeing me...

Bhagavad Gita Distribution

While distributing in the LA airport I approached a man and showed him the Bhagavad Gita, he immediately lit up with pleasure, as I was showing it to him he became more and more ecstatic hearing about the philosophy and viewing the pictures. When I asked for a donation he enthusiastically gave a very nice donation and then before he left he said, "you know, I teach world history in the university and after I read this I'm going to teach this Bhagavad gita in my class, thank you very much for giving this to me". A few hours later...
