Becoming a Sage, Page by Page

London: Today at Wembley Central, Sonia was standing with her shopping, completely mesmerised by the kirtan. I approached her, & she shared that she has been singing the Maha Mantra since childhood. At the age of 62, she continues to chant it, even at her workplace, where she said her colleagues joyfully join in. Sonia has a beautiful voice & began singing the mantra in
our own melody, though she was too shy to sit & sing with the Sacred Street Party.
I introduced her to the Bhagavad Gita and Chant and Be Happy, explaining that the Maha Mantra is a transcendental sound vibration, a conduit for devotion & a path of surrender to God. Sonia accepted both books & without any prompting shared that she would keep the Bhagavad Gita by her bedside & read a page each day.
Just before she walked away, tears filled her eyes. She revealed that her brother had recently passed away from cancer, & in that moment, as he departed, she felt a wave of negative energy lift from her that had weighed her down for years.
She offered her sincere gratitude & left with a profound sense of lightness, visibly uplifted & transformed by our encounter & the devotees singing the kirtana.
I have no doubt that with each page she reads of the Bhagavad Gita & every chant of the Maha Mantra, Sonia will nurture wisdom, serenity & spiritual depth, steadily revealing the sage within & truly learning to ‘Be a Sage Page by Page’.
