Always have Bhagavad Gita on you

Bhagavad Gita

I never thought I could distribute books. I know I love Krishna, but I just can't see myself persuading people about the philosophy and getting them to accept a book and appreciate it. However, a couple of weeks ago I was in Downey for a job assignment and it was so hot I went into this karmi place to buy a drink. All of a sudden one of the girls there (she looked like she was Indian) asked me, "Is that Krishna?" I realized she was talking about my pendant so I said, "Yes!" Then she joined her palms and said, "Oh, I am a devotee of Krishna to!"

At that moment Paramatma reminded me about extra copy of Bhagavad-gita that I always carry in my car. I thought, well, maybe Lord Krishna will put somebody interested in my way who can appreciate Srila Prabhupada's books, so I carry a book for such a person. As I was thinking like this I was hesitant and even nervous about trying to preach to this girl, then she said, "Oh, I wish I could have a book…" I was so enlivened when I heard that! I widened my stance and put both my hands forward (like when you are trying to stop a truck or something) and said, "Wait here!!!"

I ran to my car, opened up the trunk, grabbed the Gita, ran back into the place, and I was so happy… she was still there! "Here, this is for you" I said, breathing deep in relief (my mission was accomplished).

For a moment it seemed she couldn't believe she had it in her hands. Then she took the book and started banging her head with it, at the same time saying some words in Hindi. Meanwhile her co-workers and even the customers were crowding around her- they have no idea what's going on-but she is oblivious to them. She opens the book and starts looking through it, looking through it, until she comes full stop to a picture of Srila Prabhupada… "Ah! This is Prabhupada's book!" She thanked me very much. I thanked her very much and made sure I gave her an invitation for the Sunday feast at the temple.

NOW, I ALWAYS CARRY A COPY OF BHAGAVAD-GITA IN MY CAR.

Your Servant,

Bhaktin Veronica
