At the right place at the right time

I saw a young man munching on a burger in the food court of a mall in Christchurch. When I approached him to talk, he quickly wrapped his burger away and welcomed the conversation. Without handing him the book as yet (a security guard was lurking) I introduced my purpose in visiting Christchurch for the weekend, to find sincere souls.

He was amazed and asked, “Why did you approach me? I'm on a journey of self-discovery. How did you know?”

To that, I put before him the Journey of Self Discovery, amazing him even more. As he elaborated on his discoveries, I related his experiences to the book. A young lady then came and sat beside him. I feared that it was the end of our conversation.

But the girl was his sister, and she pointed at the Bhagavad-gita in my hand and said, “I got that book and Searching for Vedic India yesterday from a nice Indian girl named Madhava in Riccarton.”

Her brother was so blown away by the whole exchange that he right away gave $10 for the JSD and thanked me profusely for picking him for the book.
