Mercy makes the blind see

While I was distributing books at a university in California, a blind lady came to me and said, "I overheard you saying something about spirituality, what do you have?"

I said, "I have the Bhagavad-gita, which is considered to be the most important book on spirituality. It tells about the soul, God, karma, material nature, spiritual nature, and time. If you're interested in spirituality, then this is the book for you."

She took it and happily gave a donation. There was a devotee with me observing how we distribute books, Krsna Prema Prabhu, who saw this lady take a book from me and was surprised, because it was clear that she was blind. She had a cane with the red mark on the end indicating that she was blind.

He asked me, "How is she going to read the book? She's blind?"

I said, "I don't know."

So he ran up to her and asked, "Excuse me, I noticed you just got that Bhagavad-gita from a friend of mine, and we were wondering how you are going to read it."

She said, "Oh, it's not a problem. I'll go home, where I have a device that turns it into Braille. So I'll have every page in Braille."

He said, "Wow, that's great, and very sincere of you. I think you'll get a lot out of it."

Your servant,
Bhakta Gus
