A BTG helped build a temple

In the 1980s, devotees procured ten acres in the greater Vancouver area on which to build a temple for Sri Sri Radha-Madanamohan. We didn't have a lot of laxmi, but lots of enthusiastic book distribution was going on.
A German gentleman, who had a heavy equipment business, was quite successful, but he had a heart condition. So his wife decided to have an affair with a man who was a lawyer. They acquired a Taser, with which they administered electric shocks in his heart area. The gentleman (Horst) collapsed, and the conspirators left him for dead. But he didn't die.
After being released from the hospital he went for a walk in a bewildered state, in the rain, through Vancouver's famous Stanley Park, where he happened to find a wet copy of Back to Godhead magazine in a garbage can. He sat down on a park bench and read it. Being inspired by Srila Prabhupada's words, he came to the temple and met a devotee named Stanur. Stanur cultivated him, and in the subsequent months this kind soul donated his labor and used all of his heavy equipment to help us build our temple in Vancouver.
Your servant,
Kripanidhi Dasa
