Summary of July 2013 – World book Distribution :
July was a great month for book distribution. So many temples had huge increases. In Russia, the number-two temple, Habarovsk, increased by 999% with 11,168 book points. I can't remember ever seeing that name before. Welcome to the transcendental competition!
Previously I mentioned that Brazil is a sleeping giant who is waking up. I think the giant is awake now. Brazil is the number-four country in the world, with 19,125 book points and 17 temples reporting.
Another big increase: In Germany a team of about ten brahamcaris take a bus all over Germany, and they did 7,345 book points, with a 104% increase.
Silicon Valley in Claifornia increased by over 185% with 9,079 book points. This is all householders: the weekend warriors and monthly sankirtan festivals. Vaisesika Prabhu is inspiring devotees not only in Silicon Valley but all over the world by his intense desire to distribute books. A very dear disciple of Srila Prabhupada!
Rupanuga Vedic College in the USA also had a great month – traveling all over the country with rock concerts. These devotees did 20,901 book points and increased by 260%.
Bhrgupati Prabhu traveled with them and had his most successful month ever, with 7,207 book points. And he's 62 years old! While he was on tour, I called him to ask how it was going. He said, "The books are going out, and I feel like I'm twenty years old." Let's hope his youthful energy continues. He's one of the few maharatis in Lord Caitanya's sankirtan mission.
