SEPTEMBER 11th FLIGHT

By Vijaya dasa (USA)

Before I left the US, about September 18th, I was distributing at the Santa Monica Promenade and I spoke to one middle aged guy who showed some interest when I explained that when the body dies the soul continues. He then went on to tell me that he was supposed to have been on the flight on September 11th that went into one of the towers. He had gotten caught up in traffic so he missed the flight. I told him that there are no accidents and that he had missed that flight so that he could get these books. He was quite happy with that and took the books. WHERE I COULD PURCHASE ONE

By Vijaya dasa (USA)

I was standing on the sidewalk looking for a fortunate soul to receive the mercy when a man came up from behind me and asked if I knew where he could purchase the Bhagavad Gita I had in my hand. I was pleasantly surprised since it's usually us approaching them. So I told him that today was his lucky day since he could get one right here from me. Then he was pleasantly surprised since he thought I was the owner of the book, he had no idea that I was just asking for donations for it.

Two days later, a similar incident took place. I was showing a Bhagavad Gita to one man, when I was about half way through my presentation he kind of enthusiastically interrupted me and asked where he could purchase one. Again I was quite pleased to see another person who wants the book but doesn't know that I'm asking donations for it. When I told him he could get it right here from me he was quite surprised and very happy. He said he was looking for it for years.

People are looking for Srila Prabhupada's books.

FROM FATHER TO SON TO GRANDSON

By Bhakta Don Muntean

In the last year, I became connected to this Digital Paramatma, the Internet, and have enjoyed this and other wonderful websites dedicated to the Mission of Lord Chaitanya.

I have been aspiring since 1988, and I have never lived in a Temple [yet].

In 1986 I received a Macmillan Bhagavad Gita As It Is from my former stepfather. It had been sold to his father by a devotee in the '70s. His father was into the mystical (my stepfather said). His dad had passed away before he met my mother and all his books were suddenly mine for the taking when they married in 1986—books by Lobsang Rampa and other esoteric authors. Buried in all these was this Bhagavad Gita As It Is and all its cool pictures. I gave away all the books but that one.
